Maintenance is also an important consideration. You’ll need to perform regular inspections to check for any signs of damage, corrosion, or leaks. For coated or lined tanks, you might need to monitor the condition of the coating or lining and touch it up if necessary.
Some tanks are easier to maintain than others. For example, fiberglass tanks are generally low – maintenance compared to steel tanks, which might require more frequent painting or coating to prevent rust.
Cost
Cost is always a factor when making any purchase, and storage tanks are no exception. However, you shouldn’t make your decision based solely on the upfront cost.
A cheaper tank might end up costing you more in the long run if it has a shorter lifespan, requires frequent maintenance, or doesn’t meet your safety requirements. Consider the total cost of ownership, which includes the purchase price, installation costs, maintenance costs, and any potential costs associated with downtime due to tank failures.
When you’re comparing prices from different suppliers, make sure you’re comparing apples to apples. Look at the specifications, quality, and features of the tanks. Sometimes, a slightly more expensive tank can offer better value in the long run.
